Best Travel Destinations - Choosing Family Travel Destination

Family Travel: Choosing a best travel destinations for a family holiday or vacation can be as stressful as the packing if all members of the family are not consulted. If you have young children then obviously their travel needs have to be taken into consideration. And if you are a young couple wanting a romantic break, then selecting from the right travel destinations is going to be paramount to the experience. The question is, how do you find as much information about the best travel destinations you are gravitating towards with out being completely seduced by the glossy brochure or the travel agent’s desire for a commission?

By using several sources of information you can begin to build up a picture of what your travel experience may be like. When conducting a search for information about your ideal travel destination, you may want to consider a couple of things. Recently some well established review sites which accept reviews from the public have been infiltrated by some unscrupulous companies, and there have been cases of false reviews submitted.

Experience dictates that in general every resort will have some positives and some negatives. If you visit a review site and all you get is glowing reviews about how perfect everything is, then I would be suspicious. There is so much information out there on the web that within minutes you will have a plethora of information from a very simple search on the search engine of your choice. It was not unknown for some companies to contact travel journalists to write wonderful romantic prose about the travel destination in question.

Choosing a Travel Destination May be the Toughest Part of Your Travel

Choosing a best travel destination may be the toughest part of your best travel destination. People travel for many different reasons. Whether far away or close to home, time away from home is needed to give a person a chance to relax, renew energy, and freedom from the daily routine. Choosing a best travel destination is an individual choice and you have to decide how to balance the factors important to you for making travel planning and destination decisions. Here’s some information to help guide you to find the right travel destination.

What is the length of your trip?

You also have to factor in time differences when you cross time lines, jet lag and losing a day or two just getting back and forth. Even with quick getaways you have to weigh if it’s easier to drive or if it takes just as long driving to the airport, getting through security and the time in the aircraft.

If you are deathly afraid of flying, then going across the ocean is probably out of the question, unless you’re willing to make an ocean crossing in a ship. You still have the option of cruising if you can drive to where you board the ship. Is it safe?

For citizens of the United States you can check travel advisories at the Department of State website. Here’s the address: http://travel.state.gov/index.html

Seasonal Conditions?

Keep in mind hurricane season (June 1-November 30), monsoons, rain, etc. of the region you’re considering. There are also times of “high season” when a majority of people travel to certain destinations and that means the prices are higher and choices may be more limited. High season for Europe is July and August; for the Caribbean it’s January, February and March; for cruising the low season coincides with hurricane season.

Shop? Nightlife? Golf? Family activities? Read by a pool? Site seeing? Gambling? Adventure? Volunteer? Commune with nature? What’s your budget? You have to consider costs of meals, transportation, lodging, incidentals, fees. Who’s going on the trip?

A family vacation is much different than a romantic getaway. You can always share a house or villa with family or friends, but then you have factor in their desires, too. Best of luck to you in your search and have fun at your next best travel destination.

The Perfect Family Travel

Best Travel Destinations - Perfect Family Travel

Family Travel: Let’s face the simple truth. A trip package is just the ticket to get this done. Family trips can be expensive and hard to plan. You have to choose a destination, book flights or other travel methods, accommodations and plan for activities, all for a group. One way to beat all of this trouble is to purchase a trip package. That way, everything is planned for you – often right down to dining and amusement.

When choosing a package for your trip, be sure to research what is included. Also be sure to check age restrictions on your trip packages – some might offer free or lower cost per person for children up to a certain age, so this can factor into your choice.

A popular family destination for many is one of the Beaches Resorts. This resort chain is geared towards family trips, and is run by the same resort group that manages the Sandals chain (adults only). There are four Beaches resorts with three located in Jamaica: Beaches Negril Resort and Spa, Beaches Sandy Bay and Beaches Boscobel. There is also one Beaches resort on Turks and Caicos. The all-inclusive price of Beaches resorts also means that you pay once and everything is taken care of, making for a great family outing that is stress free.

Another Great Package

Another great package can be found at the Disney World Resort. Disney World, “the Happiest Place on Earth”, has always been a favorite family spot. Now, Disney World has added the “Magic Your Way” package to their offerings. This package allows you to combine your stay at any of the many Walt Disney World resort hotels (prices ranging from economy to luxury) along with admission to the Disney theme parks and dining options. Trip package deals are a great way to both save money and time when planning your next family trip. If you enjoy spending time as a group and want to be able to maximize your fun, a package can help you to do that without taking the fun out of planning. Just make sure everyone leaves their cell phones at home.

When you think of a family trip away, what comes to mind? A sunny, beautiful destination with plenty of fresh air, a crystal clear ocean and gorgeous beaches? What you probably don’t think of, however, is how the sad truth of a family holiday can often mean poor accommodation and screaming kids because – let’s face it – a change of air doesn’t necessarily mean a change of attitude, and most parents know all too well how some children like to complain.

There are ways to combat this occurrence that can be the bane of all family holidays. Perhaps your child has recently undertaken a geography or history project at school meaning there’s a certain country they’d like to see for themselves, or a certain type of activity would be best undertaken in a specific location – for example, swimming with dolphins or riding atop a majestic camel. By taking into account the desires of your children, you not only make them feel valued in their opinions but, if you also like their idea, could save yourself some grief along the way as you’re safe in the knowledge that the destination is definitely somewhere your child wants to go.

It’s no secret that home is where the heart is – and your ‘home away from home’ while on holiday can have a massive effect on the mood of your family. That’s why, in many cases, it’s a safe bet to treat yourself to a luxury family hotel. In these magnificent establishments, all your family’s needs are catered to and the sense of being a special guest at a beautiful hotel can really help boost morale and make your kids feel that extra bit cared-for.

Luxury Family Hotels

Luxury family hotels often come fully equipped with swimming pools, fitness areas and excellent children’s facilities, including activity clubs, with fully-trained staff. It really can take the stress out of a family holiday – for everyone.

So next time you plan a family trip away, consider that a holiday isn’t just something you ought to do on the cheap – it’s meant to make you feel good, so reach out and grab that luxury hotel room for a truly lavish experience!
